Introducing our May theme!

Hooray for April and all of the amazing things on the horizon for Book Box Club! Our April starts with two very exciting “jobs”:

1: We are just about to start packing up your Belles and Beasts April boxes (which are looking beautiful!);
and 2: we are here today to announce our MAY THEME!

This theme has been a long time in the making, it’s one that leapt off the page as soon as we read the incredible featured book and we can’t wait to hear what you think.

Before I spoil the surprise with too much giddy pre-amble, click on the image below and check out our magical theme reveal trailer, created for us by our resident Book Box Club film-maker Hax Ahmet (if you’re interested in film-making do go and check out Hakan’s website).

So there we have it…our May theme will be… WIZARDS AT WAR! Perfect for those of you who have always felt a little bit too magically inclined for this world. Imagine a face-off between Gandalf, Dumbledore, The Darkling and You Know Who; our May read has elements of them all, with added mage duels and humorous swashbuckling!

Kate and I have been waiting over a decade for our Hogwarts letters, so the prospect of a Wizards at War box had us bouncing off the ceiling with excitement.

The featured book is one we received as an ARC many months ago and as soon as we had each read it (in a whirlwind, couldn’t-put-it-down frenzy) we instantly knew it was special and we were straight in there thinking about themes and box items.

Not only does May’s book have spells flying around all over the place, but the hero’s sarcastic humour makes for some seriously edgy reading. If you are a Harry Potter fan or are obsessed with the fantasy worlds created by Leigh Bardugo, Alwyn Hamilton and V.E Schwab, you will love this book.

Alongside this amazing fantasy adventure, you can expect a box packed full of beautiful handmade goodies that any witch or wizard would trade their Firebolt for. Each May member will also receive an invite to our exclusive book club in our members-only Clubhouse, where you can chat about the book with each other and the author. We honestly can’t wait for that, our Clubhouse meetings are awesome and I know our current members will love this book!

If you are already signed up to Book Box Club then you can rest easy. Your Wizards at War box is safely locked away with your name on it and will be starting its epic journey (via post, not owl) around 15th May. For anyone who hasn’t yet joined our club, do head on over to our website now to subscribe. As always, we only have a limited number of boxes available, so be quick to avoid disappointment.

Who else is as excited about this box as we are? Which wizard do you think would win in the aforementioned battle (Gandalf, Albus, Darkling or Voldie)? We would love to hear what you make of our Wizards at War theme in the comments below and don’t forget to share our trailer with any muggles you know who might be interested in joining our club! Book Box Club is welcoming to all!

Have a magically epic weekend, everyone.

Love, Libby and Kate xx

    1. Hi Kirsty, Welcome to Book Box Club! We’re so thrilled to have another Potterhead in our bookish squad. I remember that feeling of finishing the Deathly Hallows so well (triumphant and devastated at the same time). I think you’re going to love our May book. Looking forward to sending you your box. Love Kate & Libby xxx
