Calling all artists!

We love bookish art! Having spent an unhealthy amount of time oogling artistic talent on Instagram, Twitter, Etsy and Pinterest we have discovered loads of amazing artists, many of whom have created stunning pieces inspired by our most favourite thing… BOOKS! Whether it’s fan art, typography, digital drawings or cute pencil sketches, we are both massively appreciative of all of the incredible arty genius that we see online!

With so much brilliance out there, we decided to get involved, with an idea that would allow us to discover new talent, promote talented arty types and unite artists with bookish fans.

As you probably know, we’ve been lucky enough to work with some amazing illustrators on items for our boxes this year and now we’re on the hunt to find a group of artists to collaborate with us on a top secret project that we have planned for our January box. If you’re an arty type, or you know someone who is, here’s the brief:

We’re looking for talented artists, illustrators, graphic designers and typographers to help us create an exclusive item for our January box. The mystery item will be themed around favourite books and what it means to be bookish and we’ll be asking the winners to submit a piece of artwork inspired by this topic.

In January 2018, we’ll compile the work of all of our featured artists into one gorgeous mystery item and send this out to all of our subscribers. All artists will be fully credited and information about their social accounts and websites will also be incorporated into the item.  We’ll also be shouting about all of our winners on social media, our blog and our website.

In return for the use of your lovely artwork we will promote you and your work. We’d also love to use this opportunity to find new artists to work with us on future book Box Club items

IMG_2929If you’d like to be in with a chance to have your artwork included in our January box, all you need to do is send an email to thegirls@bookboxclub.com telling us a little bit about you and attaching a couple of examples of your work.

That’s it! Please submit your entries by December 2nd, 2017 at the latest. We’ll pick our favourite entries by December 5th and we will contact the winners via email, with a bit more detail about the project. We’ll be picking the winners based on the artwork, so please don’t be put off if you are new to social media or you don’t have a massive following, in fact we are especially excited to come across artists we’ve never seen before!

This competition is free to enter and is open internationally. Entrants of all ages are welcome, but if you’re under eighteen please get permission from a parent or guardian.

If art isn’t your bag and you know someone who has some real artistic flair then do let them know about our competition by sharing this blog or our other social media posts with them so that they know how to enter. We can’t wait to see some beautiful artwork and discover some new talented creators!

In the meantime, don’t forget that we still have some December Winter Fairytales boxes for sale but they are running out fast so if you’d like to buy one for yourself or a loved one then do hurry over to our website and subscribe. Remember that this box will include the first TWO magical books in a frosty series, an invite to our members-only book group and an item illustrated by the talented TJ Lubrano. We can’t wait!

Love Libby and Kate

xx
